"The LiveU Smart app really adds value as we can divide and cover more on an educational budget. Those just starting out can learn the workflow without taking out the extremely valuable backpack. On campus we have great WiFi at many outdoor locations, so it’s win-win for pedagogy and video quality,” says Jonathan Satriale, Technology Director, School of Communication at Emerson College.
"The LiveU App is mainly used by the students that are part of the J-Channel. They use both the iPhone and iPad with a handheld microphone. The app allows them to practice their live shot skills at a moments notice and without the headaches of having to check out and lug ENG gear," says Victor M. Lopez III, Manager, Journalism Production Center.
"I’m now in my second year at Emerson and couldn’t feel more grateful to be exposed to so many new opportunities that are making me a better journalist and setting me up for success down the road including the use of LiveU to produce live shots,” said Carly D'Eon, Journalism Major at Emerson College.
“Getting this kind of hands on experience is what makes being an Emerson student valuable. While it's important to work hard in the classroom, you learn so much more when you're out in the real world and experiencing things for yourself. We are so lucky Emerson offers us the ability to use state-of-the-art technologies like LiveU. I truly feel like I'm better prepared for a career in broadcasting than most students at other schools," said Brian Danuff, Journalism Major at Emerson College.
